South County Housing offers new homeowners post-occupancy workshops that help them understand the importance of financial management, budgeting, home maintenance and repair, insurance, and being good neighbors. Many first-time homeowners do not have experience planning and budgeting for routine home maintenance. Most have never had equity and need to know how to protect and use it wisely.
