Programs For Youth

Adult Programs
Adults in our communities can attend parenting and early childhood development classes, domestic violence prevention classes, substance abuse support groups, exercise classes and sports, financial management classes and homeownership workshops.

Financial Fitness
South County Housing offers financial fitness classes to assist residents in understanding banking services, credit, money management, financing a home purchase and tax planning.

Neighborhood Leadership Development
In our developments, we promote neighborhood action groups that bring people together, empowering them to address common issues.  We offer members leadership training they need to run a neighborhood association.

Senior Programs
Our on-site staff coordinates computer classes for the visually impaired, Tai-Chi classes, a daily walking program, shuttles to grocery shopping, arts and crafts, movie nights and, through our service partner, case management and monthly health screenings.

Center for Working Families Program – Jasmine Square, Morgan Hill
Some of our renters have never had a checking account or don’t know how to budget for their needs.  We offer a Center for Working Families Program comprised of three components:  (1) workforce development, (2) financial services, and (3) after-school activities for children and youth.

Services for Families in Transition
We built and manage Sobrato Transitional Apartments in Gilroy which houses 72 families who were previously homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.  South County Housing’s case manager creates an individual plan with each family to assist them to move to stable housing; increase their income, employment or education; increase their independent living skills and become eligible to receive and are assisted in applying for health and human services.
