TEEN MENTORS

Studies show that teens learn more from a mentor who is slightly older.  We need mentors who are recent high school graduates to serves as friendly advisors to teens in our communities.  Teen mentors can help with problems such as poor study habits and can model social skills by playing basketball or going for coffee.

SERVE FOOD TO SENIORS

Twice a week, we serve hot meals to the seniors at Wheeler Manor in Gilroy.  We need volunteers to take meal tickets, serve food and help with dishwashing.

CLEAN-UP DAYS

South County Housing coordinates annual clean-up days at our rental developments for seniors, developmentally disabled adults and families in transition.  Volunteers are needed to help with jobs such as:

Landscaping
Clean and re-fill planter boxes with soil
Weed and rake
Trim roses
Replace playground fiber

Cleaning & Painting Indoors
Laundry rooms
Community rooms
Vacant apartments
Wash windows
Clean appliances

Cleaning & Painting Outdoors
Re-stripe basketball court, hopscotch and four square
Apply cleaning absorbent to parking spaces
Power wash buildings
Wash windows

DATA INPUT

In order to improve our services to residents, we collect a lot of data.  Like most nonprofits, we need additional clerical help.  If you love data we’d love to have your help entering it.
